Established in 2005, Pawtucket, Rhode Island's Awsome Sweets bakes nut free cakes fresh for each and every order. Owner Melissa Almeida, a Pastry Arts graduate of Johnson and Whales University, takes immense pride in her rare commitment to running a trusted family cake shop, providing excellent cakes for every imaginable special occasion.

"We are a custom cake shop, and we make cakes and cupcakes for all occasions," Almeida said. "I have always loved to bake and I love to make cakes. The most rewarding thing is to the reactions of my customers when they pick up their cakes."

Whether the event at hand is a birthday, anniversary, baby shower, or wedding, customers always light up the second that their cakes are revealed. Every customer's ideal cake is different, and Almeida works tirelessly to bring their unique visions to life on a daily basis.

"I work long hours," Almeida said. "Working in the food industry is a labor of love, and you must love what you do or you will never survive."

Luckily for the people of Pawtucket, Almeida absolutely loves what she does. Throughout her life, Almeida always had a strong passion for baking and decorating cakes. Since she was a little girl, it was always Almeida's dream to own a specialty cake shop where she could design and create fresh custom cakes for her community. Almeida especially enjoys bringing one of a kind cakes to life.

For Almeida, the icing on the cake is hearing the overwhelming positive feedback from her satisfied customers.
