Discover the Boon of Healthy Living at Float Studio

By Marina I. Jokic

Imagine your body is enveloped in a futuristic pod emitting pastel-colored light and filled with crystal, balmy water. The floating therapy experience is one-of-a-kind, difficult to put into words really.

Owner of Float, the only float therapy facility in Rhode Island, Letitia Latek is devoted to spreading wellness through float therapy, fitness, and various forms of massage, meditation, and nutritional counseling. Combining these key activities into a daily regimen has helped countless people, healthy and sick, to realize a more balanced and happier life.

"Our concept [draws on] water and mother earth for [its color schemes] as well as [for its] décor," Latek said. "In addition, we offer a relaxation room with fruit-infused water, coffee, tea and snacks which clients are invited to use after their services to [enhance] their decompression and relaxation."

At Float in Warwick, clients will find a functional training environment, the latest fitness technology and equipment, and numerous classes to choose from. The studio focuses on functional training by teaching various yoga styles, TRX, kettlebells sessions, and boot camps. Many of the classes focus on assisting with mobility and fluidity of the body along with ensuring a comprehensive cardio and strength-training workout. Personal trainers provide one-on-one, small group, and buddy lessons. To expand their fitness services, Latek has introduced outdoor fitness classes matching all their indoor offerings.

"I enjoy helping others and seeing the positive difference in our clients [as a result of] the services we provide," Latek said. "Also, the connections we make are amazing, [especially] when you help others achieve their goals [?] that is the best part of my job."

The unique modalities at Float synergize to provide a robust cardio workout, mental relaxation, and a spiritual cleansing. Their hallmark service, namely flotation therapy, is especially potent in tempering, and in some cases curing, various chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, insomnia, anxiety, and low cortisol levels.

Some of the benefits of Float's massage therapy include the customary sore muscle relief due to knots, tension, accidents, and surgery among others. The 60- and 90-minute therapeutic massages specifically target a client's specific needs by incorporating Swedish massage, deep tissue and trigger point massage techniques as well as stretching at no additional cost.

"Here at Float, we have [gathered] a family of [like-minded] people [who are looking] for ways to better [themselves] and help others in the process," Latek said.
