Get Fit At JTB Wellness

Yoga can help improve the body, and JTB Wellness is the place to go to improve your body in the Ocean State. Owner Jessica Jacques took some time to answer our questions about her studio.

How does yoga benefit the body? Why should those contending with stress take advantage of your massage services?

Yoga's immediate benefits include improved posture, blood flow, and concentration, plus, nailing a pose you've been working on for months adds a great sense of accomplishment. Practicing yoga releases endorphins, contributing to the post-yoga glow by decreasing pain and increasing elation. With its philosophical roots, flowing movements, supportive student community, and ability to ease our minds and emotions, yoga combines all of these elements to provide an overall sense of well-being.

How can your wellness classes help potential members get in shape?

What I love most about our center is that we have something for everyone. We offer group fitness classes ranging from yoga to barre to boot camp and Buti Yoga. Additionally, we provide massage therapy services seven days a week to help speed up recovery times and ease aches and pains. We also provide nutrition coaching to help people learn to love their bodies and have a healthy relationship with food.

What else would you like to convey to the public about your fitness center? What do you enjoy about what you do?

I think the best part about the whole thing we have going on is the attitude of the members and the staff here. We will challenge and push you to be the best version of yourself, but that means loving yourself exactly where you're at when you come in the door. You don't have to fit a certain mold to feel comfortable in any of our classes. I enjoy every aspect of what I do. I believe my life's work is to empower people to feel comfortable living in their bodies. So often we have aches and pains, injuries, emotions, and other stressors that cause us to detach from what's happening in our bodies. When we learn how we house that stress in the body and gain a variety of different tools to enable us to recognize and alleviate that stress, quality of life significantly improves. We can learn to become our best bodyworker.
