Living Chi Highlights Massage, Cupping and Magnet Therapy for Total Body Improvement

By Kelly Church

Living Chi is a wellness facility in Warwick, RI. Offering massage, facial treatments, and a wellness program for clients who come in consistently, the studio is owned by Keryn Kwan, a licensed massage therapist and certified cupping therapist.

"Our office provides a relaxing and warm atmosphere," Kwan said. "All of our clients' remark on how inviting and relaxing the space feels as soon as you walk in. Our therapists' number one goal is to take the time to make each client feel comfortable and make sure their needs are met. We have a thorough intake process so that we can customize our treatments to the individual."

The three therapists at Living Chi include Kwan; Janis Knight, who specializes in Swedish relaxation techniques, chair massage and hot stone massage; and Katie Zmed, who specializes in moderate to deep tissue massage.

Massages at Living Chi include a custom therapeutic massage, custom relaxation massage and hot stone massage. The studio's wellness program is designed to offer discounts for clients who come in for massages every four to six weeks.

Living Chi also offers a few non-massage services, including the Living Chi headache soother and an abdominal cupping treatment. These two treatments use cupping to relieve pain from headaches, sinus pressure, congestion, and aid in digestion and relieve cramping when used on the abdomen. The studio also offers a one-of-a-kind facial anti-aging treatment.

"At Living Chi, we offer a unique facial technique called facial rejuvenation," Kwan said. "It involves hot and cold stone massage, facial cupping and [an] all-natural facial masque application. It's touted as an anti-aging treatment because the cupping therapy itself helps to brighten the skin, reduce redness, drain congestion, tighten sagging areas and promote collagen growth."

Kwan said many clients notice a difference in their skin immediately after the treatment. The service is relaxing and Kwan performs cupping on herself nightly, making her very experienced in the treatment.

Another unique treatment at Living Chi is the biomagnetic energy reset. Using magnets to help improve muscular healing, this service is believed to help the body by restoring cellular vibration which improves the body as a whole. Magnets are attached to cups and left on the body longer than in a traditional cupping treatment. Reflexology is also used during the biomagnetic energy reset.

"The best part about my job is the gratification I get from helping people feel better," Kwan said.

Living Chi is open seven days a week and clients can schedule appointments by calling. For more information on each service, how long they can be scheduled for and pricing, visit livingchi.net.
