Macamaux Septic Pumping Cleans Out The Pipes

By Keith Donaldsn

A dirty septic system can cause numerous problems in the home. Luckily for the folks in Rhode Island, Macamaux Septic Pumping is there to clean out your septic system and keep everything flowing smoothly. Owner Gilbert L. Macamaux Jr. answered some of our questions about his company.

What separates your business from competitors?

I started my business back in 2009 with the purpose of providing honest service at an affordable price. It is important for me to keep my prices affordable so the average person can maintain their septic systems as recommended, without it being a burden.

Studies show a properly maintained system can remain in use for a longer period of time when pumped and inspected regularly. I want to help homeowners make their systems last longer, prevent failures and help them when and if an emergency should arise. Replacing a septic system is expensive; maintaining it properly can extend its life and prevent costly damage.

Why are septic inspections a necessary part of maintain a healthy septic tank?

At Macamaux Septic Pumping I believe very strongly in educating homeowners on their septic system, its requirements and getting them on a pumping or inspection schedule based on their particular usage. I frequently tell homeowners that septic systems are designed to need pumpings. It doesn't mean there is a problem. It's like changing the oil in a car, you don't do it because there is a problem, you do it because it's a requirement that it be changed at a certain frequency and it's designed that way.

Homeowners should know if their septic system has an effluent filter, as these require yearly servicing. A plugged filter can lead to a septic system malfunction and a basement full of crap. Some homeowners prefer to clean the filter themselves yearly or will have me come out to perform the service, either way they should be cleaned annually.

New homeowners should know that each town in Washington County has different rules and regulations relating to septic requirements and reporting by the septic providers. That's why it's important to hire someone with local experience who understands each town's requirements, reporting procedures and is approved by the town to actually do the work.

Some towns require pumpings and inspections, some just inspections. The frequency of these requirements varies as well, some towns require inspections every 3 years some are 3 to 5. Some towns don't have any requirements at all. In most cases the service provider is responsible for submitting the town required paperwork so it is important for the homeowners to hire someone who will follow through and submit any town required information.

What else would you like to convey to the public about your business?

This is an owner operated business with my name on the truck and I work hard to provide quality service at the most affordable price. Services Include: septic tank pumping, grease tank pumping, town required septic inspections, repairs, and snaking
