The Beantown Photo Booth Is Fun And Professional

By S. Mathur

A wedding is much more fun with props like silly hats, carnival masks, outsize sunglasses, false mustaches and feather boas. And of course, a photo booth to record the images for posterity. As far as fun wedding booths go, The Beantown Photo Booth is one of the best. Started by the husband and wife team of Katie and Jeremy Howard in 2011, the photo booth service has quickly become a fixture at area weddings.

The company is based in Bridgewater, MA but serves all of New England. What separates the business from competitors is that the owners really take pride in the details.

"Our print quality is very high," owner Katie Howard said. "We also provide beautiful props that are higher end and often hand made. We get a lot of great feedback from guests about our props and prints. We also provide every single guest with free high-resolution digital downloads."

The photo booths are designed to fit in with the ambience of each event. Photo booth attendants are both professional and fun, and help guests to figure out the booth.

"They are friendly and helpful without intruding on your event," Howard said. "Guests really loosen up when they put on a Viking helmet. We have had guest tell us that this was the most fun they've had all year, which really warms our hearts. People display their photo strips for years and light up when they talk about the moment."

There isn't any waiting around, at the photo booth to take pictures or for the pictures themselves. Guests get a photo to take home and the hosts get a copy of each photo for their scrapbook.

"The albums are created that day with a balanced layout in mind, so you end up with a truly beautiful keepsake," Howard said. "We do not offer bells and whistles like green screen or printing the photos onto socks (this is a real thing!), which really frees us up to focus on providing excellent service & a memorable experience for your guests."

Behind all the fun, there is some serious professionalism that ensures things will run smoothly and the photo booth will be the most talked-about part of the wedding. Photo booths can fit about four adults comfortably, though as many as 10 can crowd in. They are very lightweight and set up takes only about 20 minutes. The company works with many different venues and vendors for services like flowers, music, and photography.

The Beantown Photo Booth finds most of its new customers through word of mouth, which is an indication of the popularity of their services. Howard feels this is a good way to find the service, since the guests can make recommendations based on their own experience.

"Event services can be a very blind item and they may all seem the same before purchasing, talk to others who have used more than one photo booth and specifically ask those who were guests at an event how they liked the actual service," she said. "The bride and groom know everything leading up to the big day, but they never really get the inside scoop on what guests liked and didn't like."
